Earlier in the month of November, I attended iROK Curls and Pure Escentials Hat & Tea Party in Seoul (Video) . The invitation was open to…everyone: men, women, tall, short, brown, purple, curly or straight. We were promised swag bags, good company and a good time.
After arriving and getting settled into our seats we started by introducing ourselves and naming our hair. I love my hair, but I’ve never named my bundle of strands. However, for this occassion the name “Janet” came to mind. Whether I want “her” to or not she marches to the beat of her own rhythm (nation), she’s carefree and reserved, encapsulating the essence of versatility. At the end of the day even when “she” has been stripped of all her products, she is still one big representation of sex appeal. Everyone else did the same.
We were provided with finger foods and of course tea! We continued with a few giveaways.
Soon after Rachel of iROK Curls pulled out her bag of magic and demonstrated how to quickly throw our hair into an elegantly, textured up-do using Marley hair.
Then, Farrah of Pure Escentials took our the Invigorate body scrub which, like all of their products, was made by hand and gave us a smooth skin experience.
What I loved seeing was women from all professional backgrounds, varied hair experiences and nationalities all sitting together in one room to talk and share.
Although I did know some of the ladies on a personal level, it didn’t change the fact that I did have a great time. In between sips and prizes, there was laughter that filled the room. An experience that can be enjoyed by everyone, no matter the relationship.
Can’t wait til the next event!
